Peter Chulu, entrepreneur and founder of the Sermalo Group, specialized in market research, digital marketing and human resources, held a lecture at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Čačak on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Born in Africa (Malawi), raised in Great Britain, where he obtained his university degree and started his business, Peter Chulu is a visionary who possesses an exceptional balance of personal skills and open communication. His modern approach to business led him to Serbia, where he started a family and expanded his business. Sermalo Group today encompases eight companies operating in different sectors.
In a crowded amphitheater where students and employees of the faculty were present, Chulu spoke about the best ways to present your own brand, optimization of all the conditions needed for business success, as well as the personal qualities of a leader. Having grown up in Britain and now living in Serbia, his unique advantage is a dual perspective which enables him to understand and see different approaches to business ventures and all the situations you may encounter on your career path. The lecturer also talked about the secrets of successful public speaking, the demands that employers have today, but also about cultural diversity and the necessity of intercultural communication in the global business market.
After the lecture, the students were exceptionally motivated to ask various questions, and Peter’s direct way of answering, illustrated with examples from his personal experience, interested them and encouraged them to look at many things and potential problems from different perspective.
This lecture was organized as a part of English language course at the initiative of Dr Lena Tica, assistant professor at the faculty, and with the support of the Innovation Incubator of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Čačak, that agreed to expand cooperation with the Sermalo Group.
