Rectors Cup 2024 – Students of The Faculty of Technical Sciences first in the general ranking
On April 14, 2024, Čačak hosted the largest student sports competition of the University of Kragujevac, "Rector's Cup 2024." More than a thousand participants gathered. They competed in indoor football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, handball and numerous other sports.
The matches were played in the primary schools "Sveti Sava", "Vuk Karadžić", "Preljina", secondary Catering school, in the sports facility "Sokolana", and at the Faculty of Technical Sciences.
The sports event "Rector's Cup 2024" was opened by prof. Dr Nenad Filipović, rector of the University of Kragujevac. The students were greeted and encouraged by prof. Dr Nebojša Mitrović, vice dean for science at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, and then Vladan Milić, deputy mayor, welcomed the participants on behalf of the City of Čačak.
The competition was organized by the Faculty of Technical Sciences, supported by the City of Čačak, the Rectorate of the University of Kragujevac, the Sports Centre "Mladost" and Čačak businessmen.
Students competed in various sports disciplines, and students of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Čačak won first place in basketball and futsal, second place in women's volleyball and men's handball, third place in table tennis and women's archery.
In extremely strong competition, students of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Čačak and their colleagues from the Faculty of Medicine in Kragujevac won the first place in the general ranking. After all the matches played, the announcement of the best in all sports disciplines was held in the "Mladost" hall.
